We interview John Robinson, President of Our Ability Inc., and Jean MacKay, Director of Communications with the Erie Canalway Heritage Corridor. John and Jean talk with us about the historic Erie Canal, and the exciting Canalway Challenge, a new initiative from the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor that invites people to trace history while tracking miles walking, running, cycling or paddling on the New York State Canal System and Canalway Trail. John, who will complete his 7th end-to-end trip along the canal, speaks about the ‘Journey Along the Erie Canal’ ride to raise awareness for the benefit of employment for all New Yorkers and to raise funds toward building employment opportunities and empowering people with disabilities. He and his team invite listeners to join them for the ‘1st Mile Challenge’ as part of their ride.
