Renee Smith, Program Director for the Children’s Advocacy Center, and Sheriff of Madison County, Todd Hood talk with us about how child abuse is investigated in Madison County, and how the Child Advocacy Center helps to create a safe place for child victims and their families to manage the difficult legal process before, during, and after an investigation. Renee and Sheriff Hood also help us become more aware of how to protect our children from potential abuse, explain how to get in touch with authorities if you suspect abuse might be happening, and suggest ways to be more compassionate during Child Abuse Awareness month.
